Home Building & Interior Finishes
In 2002, Tim and I purchased a beautiful piece of property, 5.62 acres in total, with the thought of building a house on it someday. We closed on the property on December 12th, 2002 and that evening Tim proposed. I accepted and we immediately began the process of locating an architect and building our dream house. Our home was ready to move into on August 12th 2005. Exactly 1 week after our baby girl was born, and not a moment too soon. Here are links to the pictures and stories of the entire process, beginning to... well... now. Because the story will never actually end. Not completely :-)
Wedding Limericks
Tim and I were married in August of 2003. We decided we didn't like the whole glass-clinking tradition to get the bride & groom to kiss; we wanted our guests to have to work for it. So we required anyone who wanted to see us kiss to write and read aloud an original limerick that had something to do with either the bride, the groom, or both. We have a lot of creative family and friends; suffice it to say Tim and I spent a fair amount of time at the reception locking lips. But it was worth it :-) Here are a few of the gems from the evening. I continue to be amazed at just how high a ranking our site has in the internet most popular search engines, for the query "wedding limericks". Who'da thunk? At any rate, here are the infamous limericks as well as links to our wedding photos and all of the gory wedding planning details (I was not a bridezilla (really - you can ask anyone! I was not!) But I was organized and did a lot of my research on the Internet!
Pregnancy / Ultrasounds
We found out I was pregnant in November 2004. The race was on to see who would finish first: Dream House or Baby Girl. Baby Girl, aka "Bobbin", won but only by a week. Here you'll find ultrasound photos and my random, pregnant lady ramblings.
Smart Car
In June 2008 Tim and I decided we were fed up with the gas prices ($60 a week for each of us in gas = $120 a week or $540 a month in gas alone!!!!) and on somewhat of an impulse, after some speedy but extremely thorough research and test driving, we decided to ditch one of our gas guzzlers and purchase a Smart Car. The reservation list in our state is 18-20 months but I was fortunate enough to have a coworker who had maintained her place in line after ending up with an orphaned Smart months earlier, and her car arrived the same week we made up our mind to take the leap. We bought her reservation and picked up the car a few days later, and I've been having a blast driving it and more importantly, saving a TONNE OF MONEY IN GAS, ever since!
