She rolled over!!!
Major milestone this evening. Baby Girl rolled from her front to her back all by herself for the very first time ever!
We were playing in the living room - I had her tummy and arms propped up on my lap and her legs were on the floor and she was doing her mini pushups with her arms. She started squirming and wiggling and eventually made her way down onto the floor on her tummy. Then she started raising her little butt in the air and getting her legs underneath her, and before we both knew it, she had her right leg underneath and had pushed herself over on her left side and then onto her back!
She didn't quite know what to make of the experience - looking to me for some sort of cue as to whether she should laugh or cry. So I smiled and clapped my hands softly and said over and over "Good Girl! Good Girl! You rolled over all by yourself! I'm so proud of you!" while giving her raspberries on her tummy until she finally smiled, at which point I picked her up and showered her with hugs and kisses.
We tried to repeat this little accomplishment, but I think she had had enough excitement for one night... she just stayed on her stomach doing little mini butt-ups and squirming around, eventually getting frustrated as she usually does on her tummy. BUT that's ok! She did it once! She'll be able to do it again when she decides she wants to try :-)
