The greatest mysteries of all time

Posted by Heather on February 4, 2006 at 9:27 PM

How is it that the tiniest member of the family produces the most dirty laundry of the family and yet always has the most clean clothes to wear of the family?

(This is actually not as much of a mystery as it sounds. It is answered with the simple sentence "Baby's ______ always comes first" where _____ can be laundry, food, sleep, changing, room, bath, etc. You get the idea ;-))

How does baby food end up on the BACK of her booster seat? The sides, the front, the floor, the tray, even the wall I get. But the back of her own chair in which she is strapped securely? I never turn my back on her. And yet it never fails after every meal I'm scrubbing oatmeal or sweet potatoes or winter squash splatters off of the back of her chair.

How can a tiny being whose stomach is supposedly only the size of her own fist, consume 8 ounces of formula and a half jar of baby food in a single sitting and not have it immediately come back out the other end (I think the key to solving this mystery is "immediately". It's not immediate, but often times it is pretty darn quick!)

How can she possibly be comfortable sleeping with her arms raised above her head like that? When I do that my arms fall asleep and I need help getting them back down.
