T.M.X. Unveiled
Finally. It's here. Elmo T.M.X. For those of you not in the know like Anti-Juan was, this is the much anticipated 10th anniversary rendition of the original "Tickle Me Elmo". Speculation was that T.M.X stood for "Tickle Me X-treme". It's been advertised online and in toy departments and toy stores and on TV for MONTHS but only as a "black box". No pictures. No previews. Nothing. You could of course pre-order one (sight-unseen and trusting in the commercial and media hype that the amount of vagueness and mystery surrounding exactly what it is and what it does is at least equal in proportion to its value; aided of course by the much publicized additional fact that only a "limited number" would be produced. Ah... the magic words... ;-))
No, Tim and I didn't pre-order one. Although I did jokingly bring up the subject. But then my adult brain got the better of me. And no, our household is still without an Elmo T.M.X. Maybe for Christmas (see - we do TOO have limits!).
The product description on the Toys R Us website reads
"'T.M.X.' Elmo will tickle America's funny bone with three interactive tickle spots on his chin, tummy and toe. When kids tickle Elmo once on any of the tickle spots, he starts to laugh and slap his leg twice, then falls down into a sitting position and rocks himself back up to standing while laughing. When they tickle him a second time, he repeats the pattern even more, then sits down again and falls backwards onto his back and starts kicking his feet while laughing even harder. He then stands back up and asks to be tickled again. And on the third tickle he absolutely lets loose going through the first two patterns and then rolling over onto his tummy where he starts hitting the floor with his hand in gales of laughter, then rolling onto his back, standing up again, and ending with a deep sigh."
But you really gotta watch the video. Cause the above description really does NOT do it justice!
And you gotta watch the entire thing - the best is near the end. It really does get pretty extreme :-)
Ok ok ok... I admit it. I like him. I think he's cute. And it's pretty cool. And Bobbin would just be beside herself. I can't even imagine what she would do :-)
