I am that old

I am standing in line at Borders Bookstore as I type this, still recovering from the most depressing conversation I've had in a week. It went like this:

Me: ( after spending 10 minutes going through the children's section) Where are your Berenstain Bear Books? You know, the hardcover, rhyme-y original ones?

Really Young Sales Girl: Oh... We don't have any of those.

Me: Really? Do you expect to get more in soon? (thinking they had sold out during the holidays. A logical thought, if you are of my generation)

RYSG: Oh no! We don't carry them. They don't really sell that well, so we stopped.

Me: ummm... Ok. Thanks. (then I walk away in stunned silence)
